Arturo "Art" Hernandez is the founder and principal of Hernandez Law Firm, LLC. His clients have described him as “an amazing and talented attorney with integrity,” “a gifted litigator,” “not afraid to fight for the little guy,” and “a lawyer’s lawyer.”
Mr. Hernandez practices in a number of areas, focusing primarily on employment law, including: wage and hour violations, discrimination and harassment, and wrongful termination; consumer utility advocacy and litigation; corporate/business law; immigration, including business immigration; estate planning; criminal and family law; appellate practice; and general litigation. He has experience in defending complex class actions and litigating cases involving employment issues. Experience before the various administrative courts including the Missouri Public Service Commission and the Executive Office of Immigration Review.
Mr. Hernandez is a Professor of Criminal Justice and Business Law, a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers, and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is member of the Elwood Thomas Inn of Court, and currently serves as chair of the City of Jefferson Historic Preservation Commission, of which he has been a member since 2011.
In his career, Mr. Hernandez has served as an Assistant Public Defender, Deputy Attorney to the Juvenile Office, in-house litigation counsel at prestigious national corporation, and an attorney at a well respected law firm. He has tried cases to verdict in the federal courts in Missouri and is admitted in the Federal District Court of Kansas. He has briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, chief executives, international corporate businesses, and even juveniles accused of juvenile offenses. He has litigated complex and cutting edge legal issues. His most recent appellate victory has changed the process for approving statewide utility projects before the Missouri Public Service Commission.
